Increasing Number of Terror Attacks Around Globe to Augment the Growth of Biometrics Technology Market

Biometrics technology is an advanced solution that offers a high level of security in the private, public, and commercial sectors. This technology easily records unique human characteristics, such as DNA, fingerprints, retina, and voice patterns, for identification. They offer a high level of surveillance and tracking any movement in the organization or other places. Biometric technology can be classified into Voice, Single-Factor, Iris, Fingerprint, Face, and Multi-Factor. These systems are widely used across banking & finance, government, defense, and transport/logistics

The growing use of biometrics in consumer electronic products for identification purposes is driving the growth of the biometrics technology market. Increasing demand for surveillance and security due to growing terror attacks is again contributing to market growth. Moreover, the increasing adoption of biometric in the automotive industry is further anticipated to propel market growth. These systems address various security challenges efficiently such as organized crime, international terrorism, and illegal migration associated with identity and document fraud. Furthermore, they are easy to install which is again fueling the growth of biometrics technology.

The Asia Pacific is expected to gain significant growth over the forecast period and this is attributed to the increasing awareness regarding the biometric system among people coupled with the rapid urbanization in the region. According to the RRojas Databank, Asian cities are home to 1.7 billion people, nearly half the urban population of the world. This proportion is expected to increase slightly by 2020 when Asian cities will be host to 2.2 billion of the world’s 4.2 billion urban population.
