A Quick Review; the Fundamentals of Novel Drug Delivery System (NDDS)
A novel drug delivery system refers to the formulations, approaches, systems, and technologies for transporting a pharmaceutical compound in the body to achieve its desired therapeutic effects. Slow processing, as well as side effects, of traditional drug therapy are contributing to the emergence of the concept of novel drug delivery systems. Ideas based on interdisciplinary approaches controlling the efficiency, bio-recognition, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and pharmacodynamics of drugs were generated. A novel drug delivery system helps increase the availability of drugs, reduce drug degradation, and prevent harmful side effects of drugs. The system enables the formulation of the novel drug delivery devices to incorporate the drug molecules into the new delivery system, providing various commercial and therapeutic benefits. Moreover, novel drug delivery systems are used to manufacture medicines that may one day be available for medical use. As the medical world contin...
