Astrum Has Expanded Its Presence In India Infrared Thermometer Market

Infrared Thermometer Market

The Infrared Thermometer market is witnessing the fastest growth in the Asia Pacific region and this can be accredited to the growing aging population in the region which is driving demand for healthcare services. Japan has the highest growing aging population in the country. According to the Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, in 2019, the aged population (65 years old and over) was 35.89 million, constituting 28.4 percent of the total population (i.e., 1 in every 4 persons) and marking a record high in Japan.

The rise in prevalence of infectious disease and increase in the demand for the product for newborns as children cannot hold the contact thermometer is playing a key role in the overall development of the infrared thermometer market. According to the World Health Organization, HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected tropical diseases, and viral hepatitis affects billions of people around the world and causes more than 4 million deaths each year.  The high demand for non-contact detection body temperature due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in recent times has also boosted the growth of the infrared thermometer market. On the other hand, the high cost of the device is expected to act as a restraining factor for the infrared thermometer market.

An infrared thermometer infers temperatures from a specific portion of the radiant radiation generated by the object to be measured, sometimes called "black-body radiation". It works exactly like a standard thermometer, the only difference being that it uses infrared light to measure the temperature. Infrared light is emitted by objects when their temperature rises above about 2500 K (that is, nearly pure energy) and this light is detected by an infrared thermometer. There are basically three types of infrared thermometers available on the market today. One uses a quartz tube to emit infrared light and another uses an aluminum plate with a hole in it, emitting infrared radiation. The third type has a sensor that is sensitive enough to detect changes in the amount of infrared radiation emitted.

Key Developments:

1.      In January 2021, Fitgo launches the latest technology range of infrared thermometers. The products are available in India and abroad both on and offline
