Deodorant, sometimes called body wash, is a chemical substance applied externally to the human body to either mask or prevent body odor from being caused by bacterial breakdown of sweat in the armpits, feet, and groin, in some instances. A class of deodorants known as antiperspirants block the sweat glands themselves, usually by blocking the sweat ducts. Deodorant can be applied for general body cleanliness or to mask specific areas such as underarms, face, legs, arms, underarms, breasts, buttocks, neck, and groin.

Rising health &hygiene awareness and growing number of people participating in sports activities are giving enormous growth to the deodorant market. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 19.3 percent of the U.S. population was engaged in sports and exercise each day in 2019. Male participation was higher (20.7 percent) than the participation rate of women (18 percent).
