Moreover, the strong presence of the personal care industry in the region due to the high demand for hygiene products in the region is again fostering the regional market growth. According to The Personal Care Association, the region was valued at €79.8 billion at retail sales price in 2019, the European cosmetics and personal care market is the largest in the world.
Deodorant,
sometimes called body wash, is a chemical substance applied externally to the
human body to either mask or prevent body odor from being caused by bacterial
breakdown of sweat in the armpits, feet, and groin, in some instances. A class
of deodorants known as antiperspirants block the sweat glands themselves,
usually by blocking the sweat ducts. Deodorant can be applied for general body
cleanliness or to mask specific areas such as underarms, face, legs, arms,
underarms, breasts, buttocks, neck, and groin.
Rising
health &hygiene awareness and growing number of people participating in
sports activities are giving enormous growth to the deodorant market. According
to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 19.3 percent of the U.S. population was
engaged in sports and exercise each day in 2019. Male participation was higher
(20.7 percent) than the participation rate of women (18 percent). High demand
for personal care products and emerging men’s' grooming products segments is
again driving the growth of the deodorant market. Increasing adoption of
healthy & fresh lifestyles among consumers and also increasing disposable
income of the consumers is further anticipated to foster the growth of the
deodorant market.
